Routine Cleaning – A professional cleaning (prophylaxis) focuses on preventive dental care and the maintenance of healthy teeth and oral tissues by the removal of calculus, plaque, and common stains. Typically performed twice a year by a Registered Dental Hygienist, your “prophy” is completed in one appointment.
Catching tooth decay early is critical to preventing more severe dental concerns. The dentist is able to perform an oral cancer screening, evaluate the risk of periodontal disease and often spot signs of medical problems like diabetes and kidney problems.
Periodontal Therapy will be recommended if signs of periodontal disease are identified at your routine dental visit.
